Nikos Kalogerakis

Nikos Kalogerakis was born in Athens in 1972. He grew up in Crete where he learnt traditional dances. He graduated from the National School of Dance in 1998. Between 1996 and 2008 he collaborated with various companies, including “Chorika” of Zouzous Nikoloudis, Sinequanon (choreographies by Apostolia Papadamakis and Dimitris Sotiriou) and Edafous by Dimitris Papaioannou (as a dancer and as an assistant choreographer).
He has also collaborated with Apostolia Papadamaki's Quasi stellar company (2002-2003), Persa Stamatopoulou's company (2003-2004), Yelp dance co. by Mariella Nestora (2002-2003), Tsenis Argyriou company (2002), Eldor (1999) and Schedia by Anastasia Lyra (1997-99). He has participated in various operas in Greece and abroad and has acted as movement curator in theatrical and musical performances.
Since 1999 he has been teaching and delivering contemporary dance seminars to dancers, actors and teachers. He was in the core team of performers (dancer-assistant choreographer) for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2004 Olympic Games. From 2005 until today he teaches at the State School of Dance and also from 2013 until today at the Higher School of Dance AKTINA.
