Lydia Kagiou

She was born in Tirana where she graduated with honors in 1990 from the State Academy of Dance. At the age of 18, she was hired by the Opera and Ballet Theater (TOB) and within 8 months she got the rank of Soloist. In this role she performed classic productions such as Giselle, Don Quixote, Carmen, Swan Lake and other contemporary works. She is a graduate of the Higher School of Dance of the Greek National Opera and the Department of Physiotherapy at the Technical Education Foundation of Athens.
From 1995 to 1997 she collaborated with the dance theater group “Chororoes" of Sofia Spyratou, in the performances "Sound of Myth", "Table" and "Bacches" in Athens, Chania, Rethymnon, Heraklion and in Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Albania .
Since 2015 she has been teaching Classical ballet in the professional departments of the Higher Professional School of Dance of the Greek National Opera and AKTINA, and since 2020 she has been teaching at the National School of Dance.
