Dafni Mourelou

Dafni Mourelou was born in Athens and grew up in Thessaloniki. She studied political science at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and dance at the "Rallou Manou" Higher Professional School of Dance. She holds a master's degree specializing in political science and sociology of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, E.K.P.A. and a Doctorat of excellence from the Department of Education and Training in the Preschool Age, E.K.P.A..

Her thesis entitled "Aspects of Professional Dance Education in Greece. State School of Orchestral Art and Higher Professional Dance School of the National Opera" has been published by Nisos publications. She was a researcher in the PICS project (Projet International de Coopération Scientifique, Center National de la Recherche Scientifique/Paris I) on the subject of Greek dance criticism (2013-2015). She works as a teacher of practical and theoretical dance and movement courses and is Dance Area Coordinator at Deree American College of Greece.

Her research interests revolve around the history, sociology and education of dance.
